Jarvis Files Latest Appellate Brief

Jarvis Jay Masters’ legal team filed their latest appellate brief on July 14, 2026 to the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. The brief continues to highlight substantial evidence of Jarvis’ innocence, as well as major violations of his constitutional rights in his original trial. A few new Kirkland associates have joined Jarvis’ growing legal team, and we are thankful for ongoing support from mitigation experts at Full Picture Justice.

Thanks to our friends and supporters who continue to use their platforms to share Jarvis’ story: Will Shonbrun dedicated two columns in the Sonoma Valley Sun here and here, Lee Lesser highlighted Jarvis in an article in Highbrow Magazine and throughout her new book, Return to Our Senses, and Leigh Marz discussed Jarvis on the Ampersand Manifesto podcast.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the return of the death penalty to the United States with the 1976 US Supreme Court decision in Gregg v. Georgia. Clemency CA held public actions in Sacramento on June 30 and in Washington DC, Death Penalty Action organized the 33rd annual Fast and Vigil to Abolish the Death Penalty from June 29-July 2, one of the largest national gatherings of death penalty activists across the country, on the steps of the US Supreme Court. The Campaign to Exonerate Jarvis Jay Masters joined dozens of groups in co-sponsoring the event this year.
